On 1 May we will show solidarity by attending a rally, entitled: For equal conditions – a society for all.

We will gather at the corner of Laugavegur and Snorrabraut at 1pm. The march begins at 1:30pm. The Brass Band of Labour and the brass band Svanur will play there and at Ingólfstorg after the march. The route will be down Laugavegur and Bankastræti, through Austurstræti and onto Ingólfstorg. The rally there begins at 2:10pm and ends at 3pm.

Speakers will be Sólveig Anna Jónsdóttir, head of Efling and Sonja Þorbergsdóttir, head of BSRB. Master of ceremonies, as in recent years, will be Þórarinn Eyfjörð. Bubbi Morthens and GDRN, will play music.

The programme will be interpreted into Icelandic Sign Language, including the musical numbers.

After the rally

  • Coffee in Valsheimilið

After the march and rally, Efling invites you to have refreshments in Valsheimilið in the Origo hall.

As per usual, there will be a banquet and entertainments for children, a photobooth, face-painting and a balloon artist.

Efling members are encouraged to join the march and the celebrations and to meet in Valsheimilið where young and old can enjoy refreshments and chat with colleagues and friends.
