The Efling stike patrol encountered one case of strike-breaking in a Reykjavík workplace today, Wednesday February 12. A department head apparently did the work of an Efling member on strike. The school and recreation division of Reykjavík has been informed of the incident.
Nearly sixty workplaces were visited in three cars, with an emphasis on primary schools. Several workplaces will be visited later today and in the evening.
The strike patrol was well received, and there is strong support for the strikers among other city staff and the public.
Efling members who would like to assist in patrolling the strike tomorrow and next week can send an email to email@example.com
We thank everyone for the great reception we’ve got, and the solidarity shown by members of other unions, by parents and by users of services affected by the strike.
