We’ve started booking day tours, registration will last until summer or as long as space allows. Members can book one guest with them, the guest has to pay unless he is under 14 years old. The price is 6.000 ISK per person.

Due to cancellation of the day trips last year because of Covid we will repeat the same itinerary at the end of summer.

The annual day tour of Efling will take place at the end of the summer, visiting Borgarfjörður this time around. Two travel dates are available, Saturday, August 28th or Saturday, September 4th. It costs 6000 kronas per person. Children under 14 years of age travel for free.

The trip will start at 8.15 on the dot by the Efling building at Guðrúnartún 1Travellers should be there at 8am.

  • The route taken runs by Þingvellir and from there it turns onto the road over Uxahryggir which is a road into Borgarfjörður which is seldom travelled but has beautiful scenery. The stops on the tour will include Reykholt, Hraunfossar, Húsafell, where we will stop to eat lunch, the goat farm at Háafell, Deildartunguhver and Hvanneyri. The trip will then come to an end at the Settlement center in Borgarnesi where light refreshments will be offered and visitors will be able to take a tour regarding the Saga of Egil or the settlement of the country.
  • This is a unique opportunity to go on an exciting day tour, enjoy the scenery and the natural beauty in a storied location with guides.
  • Estimated time of arrival home is in the evening. Please note, especially in case children are to be brought along, that the trip takes about 12 hours.

Travellers will need to bring along a lunch for the day, warm clothing and sturdy shoes.

Bookings for the trip are made via the telephone number 510-7500 or via email at orlof@efling.is, with one’s name and ID number.
