Wages of young people according to the agreement between Efling and SA (Confederation of Icelandic Employers)
Young people aged 18 and 19 receive 95% of the starting wage, aged 20.
– If persons aged 18 or 19 have worked for at least 300 hours at the same employer or at least
500 working hours in a profession after having reached the age of 16, such persons are entitled to
the starting wage, aged 20.
At 17 years, 89% of the starting wage
At 16 years, 84% of the starting wage
At 15 years, 71% of the starting wage
At 14 years, 62% of the starting wage
Employee that has turned 22 years old is entitled to a starting wage.
