The board of Efling has approved the hiring of a group of managers and key employees who will begin work at the Efling offices in the coming weeks.
As has been been previously announced, Perla Ösp Ásgeirsdóttir will enter into the position of managing director. In the group of managers that the board has now decided will join her are Magnús Rínar Magnússon division head of service, Ingólfur B. Jónsson division head of work rights, and Viðar Þorsteinsson head of education and membership affairs.
Sveinn Ingvason, who has for years lead the union’s vacation house operations, has been hired to the position of vacation house director. Stefán Ólafsson has been hired to the position of specialist of research in labor market and welfare issues and Ragna Ólason will take on the position of specialist in collective contract bargaining.
All these individuals went through interviews and assesment of qualification with a hiring agency. With these hirings, the managerial positions related to the major fields of operation of the Efling office have been filled.
The hiring of general staff is now being finalized, on the basis of many applications that were received for positions advertised on April 16.
“Hiring has gone better than expected. The running of the office is and will be in able hands. The next step is to finalize the hiring of general staff, which we hope to be done with before long,” said Sólveig Anna Jónsdóttir chairman of Efling Union.
