Efling given a gorgeous art piece

American artist, campaigner, and activist CJ Meike has gifted Efling Union a stunning piece of artwork, which he hopes will remind of the importance of international solidarity of working people.

At the last board meeting of Efling, held on August 22, board member Sæþór Benjamín Randalsson presented the Union with the gift on behalf of the artist. The gift is a beautiful mosaic that CJ Meike made and sent to Iceland from his home in the USA. The work shows the name and flag of Efling.

Sæþór Benjamín relayed the message from the artist that he wanted the mosaic to be hung where Efling members could see it. That will be done with much pleasure. The artist hopes that the work will bring joy to Efling members and remind them of the importance of international solidarity.

CJ Meike has been following Efling’s struggle for quite some time and is impressed. As mentioned earlier, he is not only an artist, but also an activist, and a teacher by profession. He lives in Richmond, Virginia, USA. Sæþór Benjamín is originated from Virginia, and the two met in an online chat group where the issues of working people and the fight for economic justice in the world are discussed.

Sólveig Anna Jónsdóttir, chairman of Efling, accepted the artwork on behalf of the company. Efling sends warm thanks to CK Meike for the gift.
