The Efling union’s bargaining committee and Orkuveita Reykjavíkur’s bargaining committee signed a new collective agreement yesterday. The agreement applies to Efling’s employees who work for Orkuveitan and also its subsidiaries, Orka náttúrunnar and Veitur.
The new agreement is based on the Stability Agreements that Efling and other unions and associations within the Icelandic Federation of Labour concluded with the Confederation of Employers last March. The agreement, valid until February 1, 2028, includes similar wage increases and changes as those in the Stability Agreement.
Monthly wages will increase retroactively from February 1st by 23,750 ISK and will increase by the same amount from January 1st for the next three years. December compensation this year will be 123,600 ISK, while in the last year of the contract, 2027, 137,000 ISK. Vacation compensation for a vacation year, from May 1 to April 30 annually, will be ISK 66,000 for the current vacation year, but ISK 96,000 for the vacation year starting May 1, 2027.
There are also various provisions regarding confidants and their conditions for carrying out their duties.
Efling members who work at Orkuveitan and the subsidiaries Orka náttúrunnar and Veitur are encouraged to read the new collective agreement, which can be found below. A vote on the contract will be announced later.
