The Efling Union’s summer allocation of summer houses has been opened and the first application period runs until March 3rd. Members can apply for summer houses on Efling’s My Pages, but the union owns dozens of vacation homes all over the country.
A major development has occurred at Efling’s summer houses in recent months and years. At the same time, a major renovation has taken place at older houses and is still ongoing. Efling’s vacation department strives to offer members exciting options, in terms of the location of the houses, environment, and modern amenities. You can familiarize yourself with the vacation homes in question on Efling’s website.
It does not matter when members apply for a summer house during the allocation period because the allocation is based on a points system based on a history of premium payments. The first allocation will be on March 5th and the payment deadline is March 12th.
A second allocation will be opened on March 13th where those who were not allocated in the first round can apply. The payment deadline is March 19th. The booking website will then be opened again on March 20th for all members who are entitled to book a summer house and it will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
It is only possible to rent Efling’s summer houses for a whole week during the summer. Normally, the rental period is Friday to Friday, but now a change has been made so that in certain areas it will be Thursday to Thursday. The areas that this applies to are as follows:
Mosar í Reykholt, Biskupstungum
Svignaskarð (including Skarður, Borgarsel and Skarðslækur)
Ölfusborgir
Illugastaðir
Applications are made electronically on My Pages. All inquiries can be sent to orlof@efling.is.
