The City of Reykjavík has introduced the so-called preschool pathway, a set of proposed changes to the working environment of the city’s preschools. These proposals concern, among other things, children’s attendance hours, the organisation of preschool work, and the fee structure.
In response, Efling will launch a survey among the many union members who work in the city’s preschools. The aim is to gather their views and ensure that the perspectives of preschool staff are given priority when Efling submits its formal comments on the proposals during the upcoming consultation process.
Around 1,200 Efling members work in Reykjavík’s preschools, and all are encouraged to take part in the survey. It will be available on My Efling pages, under the election/survey tab. An email will be sent to all members who have registered an email address on My Efling pages. The survey is anonymous, and all Efling members working in preschools are invited to participate.
The voices of Efling members in Reykjavík’s preschools must be heard clearly and loudly regarding the proposed changes. Efling will base its position on the genuine views of preschool staff – as it always has.
Efling members are therefore encouraged to take part in the survey, which opens on the morning of Friday, 10 October, and closes on 17 October.
Let’s make our voice heard in Reykjavík!
