Efling Union has had its affiliation to UNI Global Union, the international federation of service and care sector unions, formally approved. The decision was made at a meeting of the UNI World Executive Board, held in Nyon, Switzerland, on 12 and 13 November 2025. Efling’s affiliation will take effect on 1 January 2026.
In a letter from Alke Boessiger, Deputy General Secretary of UNI Global Union, the organisation warmly welcomes Efling and expresses its eagerness for close cooperation in the coming years. The letter also states UNI’s commitment to supporting Efling’s work and strengthening the joint struggle for the rights and conditions of workers.
UNI Global Union, as previously noted, is an international federation of trade unions with more than 20 million members worldwide. Its affiliated unions operate in over 150 countries.
By joining UNI Global Union, Efling strengthens its ties to a powerful network of sister unions and gains access to international expertise, joint campaigns, and opportunities to influence labour market developments on a global scale. Efling’s affiliation with UNI Global Union is an important step in the union’s ongoing struggle for the rights and interests of its members.
