Photo series from Food and Culture

Earlier this autumn, Efling hosted the union’s annual celebration, Food and Culture. This was the third consecutive year the festival was held, and it had never been larger or more impressive. It was decided to move the event to Iðnó this time because it had outgrown the premises of Efling’s Community House, where it had been held during the previous two years.

It is sufficient to say that the festival was a great success. Efling members from more than 20 countries offered dishes from their countries of origin. The festival also featured a varied programme where Efling members and their families performed. There was instrumental music, singing, and dancing.

Birgir Ísleifur Gunnarsson, a photographer, attended and documented the event. Efling has now received a large collection of photographs from Birgir, and a selection of them can be seen below.
