Easter
The easter period 2025 is from April 16th – April 23rd, only weekly rentals are possible, from Wednesday to Wednesday.
Application period for summer houses this easter starts January 15th and ends January 23rd, application will be open at the booking web at this period. The day of application does not matter, as the allocations will be decided basing on the points system. The applications are evaluated using a special system of points which is based on how long the member has been paying dues in the union. Allocation will start on January 24th and end January 28th, members will receive an sms, and payment deadline is February 3rd. The day after, February 4th at 8.00 am the booking web is open for all members, irrespective of point status, for the houses still available this easter.

Summer
The summer period 2025 is from May 30th to August 29th, only weekly rentals are possible, eitherfrom Thursday/Thursday or Friday/Friday depending on the area.
Application period for summer houses this summer starts February 14th and ends on March 3rd. application will be open at the booking web at this period. The day of application does not matter, as the allocations will be decided basing on the points system. The applications are evaluated using a special system of points which is based on how long the member has been paying dues in the union. Members will receive an sms. After the application period has ended. Union members can book the houses that are still available at the booking web in two steps.
Note that when applying for an allocation on the booking website at My pages, select “orlofshús” and then “umsókn”. When a summer home is booked after the allocation is completed, then select “laus hús”, book and complete the payment immediately.

Fall and winter
The summerhouses are very popular during the winter, especially houses that are a short distance from the capital area. It is usually fully booked on weekends approx. one month in advance, so it is necessary to book in time to get accommodation at a time that suits you. The winter season is from August 29th 2025 to May 29th 2026. Then you can book both weekend and weekly rent. However, only weekly rentals are available during the holidays, i.e. Christmas and New Year, and then Easter. Christmas and the new year weeks this year are on 22.12.25- 29.12.2025 and 29.12.2025 – 05.01.2026. Bookings for Christmas and New Year start on September 12th at 8:00 am. It is only available to choose either Christmas or New Year’s week.
Attention Rule change
Points will be deducted from all rentals starting November 1st 2023
Member also needs to have enough points in their account to be able to rent.
A member cannot rent a house with minus points.
