Tourism Service in Iceland (english)

A course for people working in tourism service. The course is taught in English via distance learning, and participants need to have proficiency in English and technical knowledge to handle all parts of the course.

TEACHING ARRANGEMENT
• Course dates: February 3rd to March 11th
• Classes: Monday–Thursday from 9:00–12:45
• Field study: March 2nd to March 5th

LOCATION
• Distance learning (Zoom) and workplaces

OBJECTIVE
The purpose of the course is to strengthen students’ positive attitudes towards the profession and their own skills, to prepare students to tackle the main tasks of common jobs in Icelandic tourism, especially in reception and service to tourists, and to enhance students’ general work skills. The course emphasizes knowledge of tourism, service and communication in the workplace, and local knowledge. Introduction of Iceland as a travel destination and highlight of its unique nature and tourist attractions. Basic work-related Icelandic is also taught.

Taught according to the curriculum of the Educational Center for the Labor Market.

The courses are taught in English.
