Unemployed Efling members can participate in a free three week course in care work. The course takes place in the Mímir headquarters at Höfðabakki 9 from 8:30am to 3:30pm weekdays from August 10-28.The vocational training is supported by a health ministry grant in cooperation with Efling and Mímir and is based on the curriculum of similar courses for welfare and health care workers.The course consists of 82 hours with a supervisor and 20 hours of job training afterwards for students without care work experience. The course includes training in care, first aid, self-improvement, communication, posture and more.The curriculum is certified by the ministry of education and qualifies for middle-school credit and corresponding raises.It is tought in Icelandic and students therefore need basic understanding of the language to participate.There are only 18 slots available, selected from the applications, but all applicants will receive an answer.Men are especially encouraged to apply.You can send your application to efling@efling.is.
