Last Monday Efling members at the fish processing plant of Brim by the Reykjavík harbour held a workplace meeting. The meeting was called jointly by the energetic union representative of the workplace and supervisors. The meeting was crowded and successful in all respects.
The agenda of the meeting was to present the demands of Efling on the Icelandic Confederation of Enterprise (SA) and the work of the negotiations committee. Sólveig Anna Jónsdóttir attended the meeting and talked about progress of the collective bargaining. Following that she and Ragnar Ólasson answered questions from workers. There was a good discussion where many Efling members voiced their opinions. Those who attended the meeting agreed that the challenges where many, but there was no grumbling, only a focused will to stand firm with the Efling demands in the collective bargaining.
