Voting on strike call – Berjaya Hotels and Reykjavík Edition

The Election commission of Efling union hereby announces a confidential electronic vote on the announcement of a work stoppage at the establishments of the companies, Berjaya Hotels Iceland hf. and Cambridge Plaza Hotel Comp ehf. (The Reykjavík EDITION).

Only members of this work group will have access to vote.

The strike call would include an indefinite work stoppage that begins at 12 noon on February 15, 2023. The work stoppage covers all jobs under Eflinger’s collective agreement with SA for work in restaurants and inns, at the following establishments:

Voting begins at 12:00 at noon on Friday, February 3, 2023.

Voting shall end at 18:00 on Tuesday 7 February 2023.

The invitation was approved at the meeting of the negotiation committee of Efling on January 30, 2023. The full text can be found here.

The link to access electronic voting can be found here above (will be active at 12 noon on 3/2/2023). All members on the electoral register who have a registered e-mail address with the association will also receive the link by e-mail. Electronic ID is required to vote.

Members who are not on the electoral roll but believe they have the right to vote must send a message to the election board and request to be added to the electoral roll. A payslip or employment contract must accompany the submission. The paper and supporting documents are treated confidentially and must be sent to the email address felagsmal@efling.is.

Members who cannot use electronic voting can vote outside the election meeting by paper ballot at the association’s office, during it‘s opening hours, and must have valid identification with them, such as a driver’s license, passport or identity card issued by the National Register of Iceland (Þjóðskrá Íslands).
