Efling members have approved a call to strike in security and cleaning companies and in hotels by a large majority in each case.
711 people were eligible to vote on the strike in hotels. 288 people voted, 78 for and 17 against. The strike was approved by 76% of the votes cast. Participation was just under 54%.
414 people were eligible to vote on the strike in security companies. There, 130 votes with and 59 against the strike, while 13 didn’t opt for either. The strike was thus approved by 64%. Participation was just under 49%.
909 people were eligible to vote on the strike in cleaning companies. Of those, 209 voted for the strike, 40 against and 20 for neither. The strike was thus approved by 83% of the votes cast. Participation was over 38%.
The negotiation committee put these three strike votes to members by an announcement published on February 13. The strikes are indefinite and will begin at 12 noon on Tuesday, February 28.
