The mediation proposal of the state negotiator in the dispute between Efling and SA has been accepted.

The mediation proposal of the State Conciliation and Mediation Officer was approved today after voting by members of Efling and Samtök atvinnulífsins (Confederation of Icelandic enterprise).

The approved mediation proposal means that the wage-table of the main collective agreement increases retroactively in the range of 35,000 ISK to 52,258 ISK, and the average increase is about 42,000 ISK. The relative increase in the wage-table is on average around 11%. Retroactive wage increases from November 1, 2022, are effective according to the approved mediation proposal. All increases (also pay-related items such as bonuses) apply from November 1, 2022.

Wage-tables will be updated on Efling’s website. It is estimated that this will be completed tomorrow, Thursday, March 9.

A new job title, General staff of hotels, is added according to the approved mediation proposal. The job title is placed in salary category nr. 6, after a three-month trial period.

The monthly salary of union members who do not receive a salary according to the wage-tables of the collective agreement will increase by 33,000 ISK from November 1, 2022.

Since the mediation proposal has been approved, the bonus paid at Samskip increases by 28%. Also, the wage category of drivers at Samskip with the qualification to drive with dangerous substances (ADR) has been increased from wage category 13 to 14.

Efling members who work at Skeljungur and Olíudreifing also receive a special payment for driving with dangerous substances (ADR).

The payment amounts to extra 175 ISK for all hours worked and will be implemented as of February 1, 2023. The payment is in addition to other agreed terms of employment and other increases stipulated in the mediation proposal.
